Toivala kindergarten
The curtain fabrics of Toivala kindergarten were designed with the cooperation of the architects. The curtains were not included into the project plan, but were seen as an important factor of the interior entity.
The color and surface material plan offered a good basis for the textile design. Architectural drawings – floor plan and projections – gave more detailed information about the size and position of the windows. Both of these create a frame for curtain design.
The discussion with the kindergarten personnel clarified the function and the expectations set for the fabrics and the curtains: uniting colors & creating coziness.
From these starting points we composed two proposals and made projection drawings demonstrating the designs, the colors and the potential types of the curtains. The design Helio was selected, printed with the theme colors of each kindergarten unit.
